This photo might not look like a big deal, but to me, it’s huge! This is the garbage can in my bathroom and I have longed for this day. The day when I can finally throw out my prescription acne gel.
I’ve struggled with bad breakouts since I was 16. It came about all of a sudden and it was very disheartening. It was constant, it wasn’t just around my time of month, or when I’d eat bad, I would break out consistently.
I went through tons of make up to try to cover up all the break outs which lead to marks and scars. I don’t want to know how much I’ve spent on creams, serums, and make up over the years 😫.
I finally had enough and had asked my mom to take me to the doctor. I was prescribed some oral and topical antibiotics. The antibiotics helped, but I knew I didn’t want to be on those for long as they can be very damaging.
After lots of experiments with diets, supplements and facials, I realized the root cause to my acne had to be hormonal. I was 18 at this time, so I decided to go on birth control just for the hormonal balance I needed. It worked! I was so happy when my acne was finally under control. I hardly ever broke out when I was on birth control. It was wonderful!
5 years later, with both my pregnancies, I got pregnant a week after coming off my birth control. Those were the only times I came off my birth control in that 5 year period. But after Rio was born, (when I started on my all natural journey) , I wanted to find a more natural and safe way to try to balance my hormones.
I thought to myself I’m 27 years old, maybe my hormones have balanced out naturally by now. So I made the decision to not go back on birth control. All was good for about 5/6 months after his birth. However, I started to notice I was getting more and more breakouts and eventually, I was back at square one. There is nothing worse then being 27 and still dealing with acne 😒. So I made the dreaded phone call to my doctor and asked them to prescribe me my old birth control and topical antibiotic again. I felt so hopeless and defeated that nothing I had tried worked.
This was a few months after I had started using my Young Living essential oils. I workout 5 days a week with my neighbor who is my up line in the company. I was telling her how I felt like such a phony for promoting an all natural, chemical free lifestyle while I was over here taking artificial hormones and using a topical chemical on my face.
I do my best to try not to sell to my readers. The last thing I want to do is make anyone uncomfortable or push someone to buy something they don’t want. I’m simply telling what worked for me and if that happens to be with my YL oils, then that’s what I have to share. These are my everyday wins that I can’t keep quiet about. So if you already love oils, perfect, keep reading. If you are interested in learning more about oils, perfect, keep reading. If you hate YL or essential oils, then you should prob stop here, cuz that’s the solution to this current problem 😄
She recommended I try a Young Living oil blend called Progressence Plus. PP is an oil blend created just for women. It contains the natural hormone progesterone which is produced from wild yam. It also contains frankincense, bergamot and peppermint essential oils. You apply it to your throat and forearm daily.
I did some research and found a lot of women who had great results balancing hormones using this oil. I even read testimonials about women overcoming infertility after using this. I’m a very skeptical person. I’ve been burned by good reviews in the past. Reluctantly, I added it to my next order thinking I will try it, I have nothing to lose.
When I finally received it, I read the directions. It says not to take any artificial hormones while using this oil. I have never been so torn. I was so afraid this wouldn’t work, and my cystic acne would come creeping back, but I took the plunge. I threw out the remaining pills from that months birth control.
It’s been 2 months and I am thrilled to report I haven’t been on birth control since that day! My skin has been clear! My energy has improved and my overall mood has too. I still get occasional break outs around that time of month. But that’s to be expected.
I finally threw out my topical antibiotic this morning. I haven’t needed it in 2 months! I used to use it everyday. So you can see why I’m so excited! This just solidifies my love for Young Living products and the all natural route. Yes it took me years to get here, but nothing happens overnight.
